Luc Derycke is aangesteld als vormgever voor Contour 7. Hij verzorgt de look & feel van de volgende Biënnale voor Bewegend Beeld. Derycke (1963) werkt al jaren als uitgever, samensteller en ontwerper. In de jaren negentig specialiseerde hij zich in het grafisch ontwerp en de productie van kunstboeken.

Contour werkt mee aan On & For Production, een project ontwikkeld door het productie- en distributieplatform Auguste Orts in samenwerking met LUX (UK) en Art Brussels.

On & For Production is een experiment; een laboratorium waarin wordt nagedacht over de context waarin kunstenaarsfilms worden geproduceerd. Het omvat werksessies met kunstenaars, producenten en professionelen in besloten sessies, een open workshop (reeds volzet) in het VAF en een debat tijdens Art Brussels.

Op 5 mei gaat de Irakees-Amerikaanse kunstenaar Michael Rakowitz in gesprek met curator Nicola Setari naar aanloop van Contour 7, de Biënnale voor Bewegend Beeld in 2015.

Momenteel toont Museum M in Leuven werk van Rakowitz in de tentoonstelling ‘Ravage’ (tot 1 september 2014). Hij is tevens op 7 mei te gast in Parijs voor de derde editie van de ‘Artists’ Soapbox Series’. Absolut Company organiseert dit initiatief in ‘Point Perché’, een ruimte in het Palais de Tokyo. Nicola Setari is curator van deze reeks kunstenaarsgesprekken, die deel uitmaken van ‘Fooling Utopia’, een onderzoeksproject dat kadert binnen Contour 7 en in februari werd gelanceerd in Mechelen.

Het Antwerpse ATELIER2B ging aan de slag met de spandoeken van de vorige biënnale en ontwierp een collectie zakken en tassen in beperkte oplage. Je kan de designcollectie bestellen via de Facebookpagina van Contour.

Luc Derycke has been appointed as graphic designer for Contour 7. He will be responsible for the look and feel of the next Moving Image Biennale. Derycke (1963) is a publisher and designer. In the nineties he specialised in the graphic design and production of art publications.

Contour is co-organising On & For Production, a project initiated by the production and distribution platform Auguste Orts in collaboration with LUX (UK) and Art Brussels.

The pilot edition of On & For Production has been born out of an intention to ‘learn in doing’; that is to try out a context aimed at facilitating the collaboration between artists, producers, curators, institutions and collectors for the production of artists’ films. It includes work sessions, an open workshop (fully booked) at the Flemish Audiovisual Fund and a roundtable at Art Brussels.

On 5 May Contour hosts a conversation between Iraqi American artist Michael Rakowitz and curator Nicola Setari within the context of Contour 7, a Moving Image Biennale in 2015.

Rakowitz's work is currently being displayed as part of the ‘Ravage’ exhibition, at the museum M in Leuven (until 1 September 2014). He will also be the guest artist for the third ‘Artists’ Soapbox Series’ on 7 May at the Point Perché in the Palais de Tokyo, Paris. The program is an initiative of the Absolut Company. It is curated by Nicola Setari and is part of the research project ‘Fooling Utopia’ that he launched last February in Mechelen.
